Loved this first book in a new series. Gabe was such a fabulous guy and a great dad. Addison wore two different hats- on one hand she was the carefree woman who had a monthly sexy rendezvous with Gabe when she was in New Orleans on business and on the other hand she was a checklist making single mother to a 5 yr old daughter. Gabe did not know her to be a single mother and she wanted to keep it that way. Until their worlds came together in the same city. Gabe was way ahead of Addison on making plans for them to be together especially after he found out that they both had a 5 yr old child. Addison was thinking that would scare him away and he already had them married, with a dog, white picket fence and more kids. She didn’t even want to date anyone. Their parenting styles were completely different but worked for them. Gabe lived with his mother and his mother helped take care of his son, Cooper. Addison raised her daughter Stella differently than Gabe in that she let Stella try things and be her own person and it worked because Stella was friendly, outgoing, adventurous little girl. Cooper was a little more cautious and careful about everything and tended to overthink things. As much as I loved Gabe and Addison as a couple because they were hot together, you could just feel the chemistry between them, I loved the friendship between Stella and Cooper. Stella basically became a protector to Cooper and took care of him. It was after an event at preschool came to light that Gabe started to second guess how he was as a father. He distanced himself from Addison to prove to himself he could be the father Cooper needed and Addison realized she had to let him figure it out on his own, similar to how she raises Stella. She needed to let Gabe know he wasn’t alone but that she would give him the space he needed. It actually helped Gabe and Addison realize that the other balanced each other out and they were exactly what they needed.
I enjoyed the single parents group that Gabe and then Addison belonged too. I can wait to get more stories from them. Especially Gabe’s brother Logan! This was a great book and I am excited for more!

Going Down Easy Boys of the Big Easy eBook Erin Nicholas Reviews

This story was interesting and could have been so much more but in all there was a lack of emotional depth and way too much repetition of inner thoughts. The basic premise was fun but the heroine was pretty unlikeable and self-absorbed and the Hero a bit too sweet. And he definitely had the same thoughts over and over and I got pretty tired of reading them. There were a fair number of sex scenes (and almost-sex scenes) which were fine but i would have enjoyed it more if I had "felt" the chemistry between H/h rather than been told it existed. That said, I finished the book and I might read the next one in the series.
This is the first book in a promising new series featuring single parents and set in the colorful, historic Big Easy, New Orleans. In this book we meet Gabe Trahan, co-owner and bartender at his family's tavern, and Addison Sloan, his once a month fling who lives in New York. The arrangement works well for them, keeping things light and never getting personal, until Addison moves to New Orleans. As much as Gabe has decided he wants more now that they’re living in the same city, Addison is determined to walk away, but somehow their lives get more and more intertwined.

It took me a while to warm up to Addison and I really didn’t like her in the beginning. She came across as selfish and she was really unfair to Gabe, jerking him around with mixed messages about their relationship or lack thereof. As I continued reading and got to know more of her backstory, I understood her a little more, although it still took some time to win me over. Finally, she got on board, but I just had a feeling she would do something to sabotage the good things in her life that were outside her comfort level. Well, let’s just say, I may have misjudged Addison and was very surprised by what transpired because both she and Gabe had a few things to learn.

The kids really made this book for me, and I was fascinated by the setup, with Gabe's son being more like Addison and Addison's daughter having a personality more similar to Gabe’s. Cooper is cautious, contemplative and practical, and Stella is enthusiastic, adventurous and perpetual motion. They were both entertaining and adorable and had full-size personalities for pint-sized five-year-olds. They were endearing and delightful, and also provided some interesting object lessons for their parents. This book tugged at my emotions, made me laugh and warmed my heart. I definitely recommend it for a steamy, emotional, feel-good, fantastic read.
