On The Move Pamela Britton Books
I liked the story, but the book seemed to slow down a lot. It could have been effective as a smaller, faster read. That said, I like this author and the NASCAR series of books even though I don't know much about racing. One can sense the excitement and camaraderie of the drivers, owners and crews as the love stories unfold. I'll be back for more.Tags : Amazon.com: On The Move (9780373772223): Pamela Britton: Books,Pamela Britton,On The Move,HQN,037377222X,Automobile racing;Fiction.,Love stories.,10005596,115026X,20080901,707220,AMERICAN LIGHT ROMANTIC FICTION,Automobile racing,FICTION Romance Contemporary,FICTION Romance General,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction-Romance,General Adult,Love stories,MASS MARKET,Monograph Series, any,NASCAR (Association),Romance - Contemporary,RomanceModern,Romance: Modern,Romance;Contemporary,United States
On The Move Pamela Britton Books Reviews
SSI sports agent Vicki VanCleef believes her current assignment is impossible. Knight Enterprises Motorsports hired SSI to watch over NASCAR driver Brandon Burke, whose reputation as an out of control bad boy was affirmed at the Indy last year when on the last lap, with him 20 laps behind the leader, he caused the car in front to crash. Her amoral boss assigned her the task of baby sitting this wild Neanderthal.
In violation of his contract, Brandon plans to ride in a drag bike race. Unable to reason with him or to get him to adhere to his contract, Vicki arranges for his bike to be taken. Brandon threatens to arrest her, but she warns him the bad PR would destroy his already shaky career. She finally gives up and tells him his bike is in the bathroom and leaves. Her boss is ecstatic with her work and assigns her to Brandon exclusively. As the driver and his agent get acquainted over arguments and kisses they fall in love. However, he hides a dark family secret he refuses to tell anyone because he believes if it is revealed it would bury his racing career permanently and end his chances with his beloved Vicki, who sees beneath the nonchalant exterior.
This is a terrific NASCAR romance starring a fascinating bad boy and the woman who drives him to distraction. The story line is faster than a spin around the oval as Vicki and Brandon fight and kiss and fight. The return of stars from previous tales (see ON THE EDGE) adds to the racing venue, but it is the warm contemporary romance that steers this fine tale.

They also repel. But sometimes, they bond. Against any and all other expectations, that's just what happens in this most unusual romance novel. Of course, there has to be a love story -- one that has a happy ending -- or the book can't be a romance novel. Plain and simple. But this one IS different.
Along with the NASCAR and the romance elements, it also deals realistically with an adult who cannot read. This is a serious social problem these days one must be able to read in order to do almost any kind of work. Not having this skill can be tragic.
Brandon Burke is the 'bad boy' to end all 'bad boys'. Big-time. He is so over-the-top you just want to punch him out. Or else shake him until his gorgeous blonde hair falls off his head. Exhibiting unusual talent for racing from a very early age, his Dad steered him toward a career as driver, without allowing the boy a chance to pick up the off-track skills he'd need for just living. Brandon is intelligent, however (most dyslexics really are!) so he teaches himself a lot of the skills he needs, except that he really can't read in an impromptu setting. He stonewalls agents, owner, mechanics, reporters and other important people in order to keep his secret.
And then, Vicki VanCleef is assigned to him as a junior agent, in order to keep an eye on the bad boy, and try to keep him out of further trouble. She catches his attention right way, when she sneaks his racing bike away from him, in order to keep him from breaking his car racing contract. But that's just the beginning.
These two--from opposite sides of the track--and with totally different aims in life, strike monumental sparks off each other, nearly setting the surrounding areas on fire in the process. Over the course of one NASCAR season, they learn from and about the other, as well as the meaning of some of life's simpler pleasures. The very happy ending is a bit unexpected, but the getting there is well worthwhile. Hang in, and you should be happy that you did.

NASCAR Series Book 6
Vicky VanCleef wants to live an independent and exciting life instead of joining her dad's law firm. What could be more exciting than working with sports figures as an agent? When she is asked to approach the rough and handsome bad boy of NASCAR she has excitement rolling through her in spades....is it because of her job or being near him?
Brandon Burke is much more than what people see. What they see is a jerk who drives his car with a selfish and reckless attitude, not caring what his actions cause the other drivers. The last thing he needs is the petite and plain looking woman his agent sends to keep him in line. On second thought maybe she's exactly what he needs.
Once again the author writes an exciting story on and off the race track. Brandon struggles with a disability that he's been able to hide over the years rather than get help for. His attitude stems from things much deeper than what the fans eye sees. Vicky sees the man rather than the race car driver and likes what she sees. Once again many of the previous characters are brought back for a cameo which I personally enjoy. There are seven books within this series.

Shipping is fast. Another good book in her series. I would recommend this book.
An interesting, quick read for all of those who have a fascination with NASCAR and the people who are actively involved.
very interesting book
I enjoyed the story of Vicki and Brandon. I liked it so much better than the last book in the series. I look forward to reading more of Britton's NASCAR books.
